Asakusa-jinja Shrine

Asakusa Shrine has many imaginary animals depicted as symbols of peace and wishes for people's well-being. What is unusual are the "married couple guardian dogs (called Komainu)" which sit next to each other. Usually, these guardian dogs are placed across from each other on a path, so sitting next to each other is very rare, and glad couples wishes such as good fortune in their relationship.
